Corporate Counsel

General Job Summary: The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and managing legal risks.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Provide guidance to executive team, management, and other departments on a variety of legal matters.
Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, ensuring they align with the company policies and legal requirements.
Ensure the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations including HIPAA, Stark Law, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
Risk management, to include identifying and mitigating legal risks related to patient care, privacy, and other healthcare operations.
Provide advice and guidance on regulatory compliance, including licensing, provider enrollment, scope of practice, and billing / reimbursement.
Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to healthcare operations and compliance.
Assist with managing litigation, working with outside counsel when needed.
Other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from accredited law school.
5 – 10 years of legal experience in a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of healthcare law and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and other relevant statutes.
Experience with contract negotiation and drafting, particularly in the context of healthcare.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in litigation management.
Ability to stay current with changes in healthcare laws and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds.
Ability to concentrate on details.
Use of computer for long periods of time.
